Make in India

I am a great admirer of Make in India initiative which by far is the best policy decision in India post Independence and have the potential to address many issues of concern like Unemployment, poverty, Industrial growth and export enhancement.
Make in India being Pet project of our Mr. Modi and he himself personally involved in it,it is unquestionably going to be huge success and good positive trend are now visible with many major Investors already started exploring the possibilities.

Now, my concern which induced me to write is I am from Bihar and only investment I have heard of in last one year is former governor Mr. D Y Patil promising to open a Dental college in Patna.

Presently with such a favorable conditions Bihar which is so much lagged in Industrial growth and facing severe unemployment and poverty has a golden opportunity to keep pace with Country but be it political or whatever reason Bihar government is reluctant and apathetic of Make in India initiative.

Taking a example of Hannover Messe 2015 fair , India being the partner county and PM himself being present there, it was a once in a life time opportunity for Bihar to attract investors from around the globe . But it was again a story of lost opportunity as Bihar government decided to send four government officials in the last minute - under prepared without bells on just to keep up the formalities. No seminars no presentations the unmotivated personnel just any how participated.
On the other hand Chief ministers of relatively developed states were themselves present with top industrialist from the state in the fair monitored everything themselves and went to extra miles to counsel and attract prospective investors with seminars and other means for the betterment of people of their state .

The unresponsive Bihar government was unable to prepare even a brochure and can’t find any one from Bihar Industrial Association to represent state as government was busy in preparing for ‘PARIVAR’ and ‘EKTA’ in given three months. The developed states like M.P, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Gujarat does proper follow up coordination with prospective investors once you appeal them to invest in India, attracting with specific benefits state is offering and propagating initiatives like Make in M.P/Chhattisgarh’ etc.

Make in India which can prove to be be not less than a boon to Bihar and Bihar’s. I have seen the pain and grief of people of Bihar at Railway stations leaving their loved villages for Gujarat, Punjab , Delhi and other destinations just to work as Labors and you are well aware of this fact. No one in the Bihar government cares the plight of Bihar’s apart from one or two ‘Bihari Asmita’ statements in a year or two.

One thing which concerns me most is that by the time BJP government assumes office in the last of this year almost all major investors would made his mind or be decided the state to invest in. With present Bihar government not even a well wisher of Make in India initiative I doubt will be able to attract investment for a penny and despite so much opportunity in the air Bihar will left empty handed and Bihari’s will left with no other option but to catch early morning train to return only in year or two.

As present Bihar government is coming up with no sketch to attract investment, Land acquisition policy is worst in the state (Can’t find land even for IIT and IIM), law and order has worsen again and these makes me feel as Bihar’s are still left to destiny for their betterment.
